i know

the last couple of days have been like a dream...Thursday was Whitver which was very stressful.  i don't know why because usually it's so peaceful.  but thankfully i had some good friends to help me through the stress.  (love you veronica and cori) that night i went to a my friends house with a few other friends and we had the most glorious time.  stargazing and talking deep.  and i mean reeeally deep.  in other words, i've know these people for years and by the time i left i felt 10 times closer to them then i ever have before.  on friday i 3-wayed some people while i was at my friends house and we literally talked on the phone for 5 hours about..just..ahh.  i can't even explain it.  it was amazing stuff.

picture of the week!

so you may have noticed that i've been changing the look of my blog a lot . . .because i have.  but i think i finally found the perfect layout!  so i shouldn't be changing it for a long time.
so it's time for the picture of the week!  and my friend recently got me a hammock (thanks, dean! you're the best!) so i thought i would post this picture of a hammock.  (i'm kinda addicted to hammocks)
isn't that perfect?

cd's and beauty.

bonjour!
lately i've been starting a collection of cd's.  as much as itunes is handy for putting music on your ipod, i just don't appreciate digital music as much as a nice cd and records.  so i got myself a little cd rack and i'm just piling it! it makes me so happy!
today as i was picking up stick in the back and front yard (a chore that i kinda despise) i was thanking God for the beautiful day, not so much the heat but just the beauty of it.  so i decided that there are probably some people out there that like this heat, therefore, God created it for them.  but for people like me, God created the fall.  i just love the fall!  it's my favorite temperature and i looove the way the trees look and i love the crunchy leaves beneath my feet. joy.

school is what's up.

so school started friday and the last few days have been really tough.  not just because of how much i had to do, just because i'm realizing (once again) that school is  not meant for me.  it goes against about every atom of my being.  i'm not meant to sit inside all day and do nothing creative with my brain!  i'm meant to be outside and paint, and explore, and be ME.  therefore, when i'm doing school, i'm not being me.  as much as i hate school i can't deny that i'm really excited about my tutorial tomorrow.  it's the bees knees.  it's basically another home for me.  so EVEN THOUGH it means school, it also means friends and joy.
my goal this year is to try not to hate school as much, and to just put all the stress, school, and thoughts of failure into God's hands, because i definitely can't handle it myself.
 hey watch this

picture of the week!

You know what time it is!  It's picture of the week time!  It's da rizzle roop.
Anyway!  So this week I had my birthday party and it was at one of my favorite places in the world: Cottontown.  I love going there because it's so peaceful and beautiful and just...ahh.  Therefore I'm going to post a picture I took a long time ago of the pond  that my cousins have on their farm there:
P.s. Do you like my new header?  The pictures on the left are ones that I took and then the one on the far right my friend Cori took of me.

Amor asombroso.

I have way to much to say about this week in Honduras but I will put what I can.  The first full day we went awesome.  We went to a community called Mirador and built a house for a very young couple with two children, who were so excited to have their own house.  We would switch out building and playing with the kids that seemed to come from no where wanting attention and, of course, candy that we were handing out.  The amazing thing was that the children would just come up to you with no introduction, no words, they would just come up and hold your hand and hug you and kiss you, like they had known you forever.  How often does that happen in America?  Hmmm, let me think...NEVER.  If that happened here the parents would immediately apologize and usher their kids away.  But the parents in this community just stood and watched smiling as we played with their children and held them.
The next few days we spent at Jovenes, a boys orphanage that my Uncle helped start.  The boys there were not only sweet and just plain amazing, they were inspiring.  Their happiness overwhelmed me.  I loved getting to know each one and seeing their different personalities.  I heard a few of their story's from when they weren't at Jovenes and some of them were unbelievable!  One of the boys there, when he was a baby his parents would leave him in a barrel while they went to work.  Finally the neighbors heard and took care of that.  He had no emotions when they first got him and he could only say "Na na".  So that's what they called him for a while.  But now you look at this precious boy (Jose) and he's so incredibly happy!  He's all smiles.
The last  day we went to the hospital and a blind school.  The hospital was very hard to go there and see the little sick children but it was worth it to cheer them up (and their parents) and see them smile.  The blind school was amazing.  They sang for us and it sounded just like angels!
Over all this was the best experience of my life.  There is nothing like it in the world.  The thing that touched me the most was that even with so little, these kids were some of the happiest people I have ever seen in my life.  That just goes to show how possessions are most definitely  NOT the key to happiness.  Love is.
