MS

this weekend my family went to a lake home in Iuka, MS.  the lake home was beautiful and cozy and had a wonderful view.  my family hadn't gone on a trip in like 3 years, so it was much needed.  The town of Iuka wasn't what some would call "attractive" it was kind of like a small southern town stuck in time.  most of the buildings were really old and breaking down and i kept asking myself where all the people were, but there just weren't many.  we went to some antique stores and shopped around and i got 3 vintage cameras: a brownie reflex and 2 different versions of the polaroid land camera.  cool stuff.  the town seemed very oppressed and people looked like they were just really tired and drained.  almost like they all shared a secret but no one knew what it was.

sitting in my room at my desk in front of the window, drinking coffee-ish tasting tea (it's caramel), listening to this which you should be listening to while you read this, and blogging. mmm. tranquil.  today you should think.  just think.  just think about anything and everything that your mind wanders to.  even if it's something intimidating that you've never thought about or you didn't know your mind COULD think about. do it. it will either be very refreshing or something that you'll have to analyze for a while.  but trust me. it's worth it.  so while you're drinking your tea, coffee or anything in between i challenge you to THINK.

well i don't think i've been very constant with these...it should be more like "picture of the week when laura remembers!"
anyway, so i've been using this super cool camera called a Polaroid spectra (you know those old cameras that give you insta pics!) and this is what it looks like. pretty snazzy.  the only problem is that people don't really make the film anymore and the film i have is like 8 years old so MOST of the pictures don't turn out to well. BUT there were some that turned out pretty yummy. and here they is:

autumn, i can feel it in the wind.

Here in Tennessee we are finally getting rain, and with it, Autumn.  Back to big sweaters and cozy blankets.  My room is always VERY cold in the fall/winter because of all of my enormous windows and being right over the garage. But I'm not complaining because I love having a cold room.  Especially when I'm playing some Sufjan and have a candle lit. Perfect.

Oh hey! Me and my friend Eliza are going to perform for my tutorials Band Night this Friday night. Huzza! So if you want directions, just message me or something. It's gonna be greeeat.
