Come Thou Fount

Lord what beautiful things you make!  My mother, my sister, and I went on an adventure yesterday searching for fungus with my mom's new fungus books we gave her for Christmas.  You would be amazed at how many different kinds we found!  Everything from jelly-like brown shelves to fuzzy white cups.  We tramped through the "woods" (also known as Moss Wright park) specifically looking for the little decomposers that God so wonderfully made.  If we hadn't been looking for them we probably wouldn't have found them.  Which reminds me of a certain thing we do as humans.  God plants little things for us in our lives, little secrets that He hopes so much we will find as we march through our (hate this word) busy lives.  And being as human as we are we don't find them unless we try to find them.  Me and my wonderful friend had a phone conversation on how we can try to find God when sometimes were clueless as to exactly what to look for.  But the truth of the matter is, that He shows us Himself everyday of our lives, all we have to do is learn how to notice Him.  If we hadn't known to look under dead limbs and rotting leaves, then my mom, my sister, and I wouldn't have been able to find all the fungus we did.  Just like that, God will show Himself to you, all we have to do is educate ourselves on our beautiful God.

Creature Fear

hello world! it's been a while. i was just thinking about happiness and how sometimes (not always in a good way) it defines who we are as people. so many of us (myself included) are always searching for happiness whether it be from people, objects, relationships, music, etc...but from past experience i've ultimately found happiness and true contentment in God by constantly thanking Him for my blessings, friends, family, and the little things that aren't really that little; also, i really connect with God by being outside in His beauty that he created oh so tenderly for us.  but everyone is different and that's what makes the relationship with God so special and unique with each of us. it makes me truly HAPPY to think about such things.

music

it's funny how much a song can describe a person. i think (personally) that the song Clair de Lune describes me perfectly.  i've been writing this song lately on guitar and i feel it when i play it.  i keep thinking that it needs lyrics but i don't think i could feel it if it did.  lyrics are overrated and overused...i think it should be illegal to write and publish a song that doesn't mean anything to you and that you can't feel while you perform.  wow.  this is unusually opinionated for me. but hey! if you're reading this then you shouldn't care. okay. i think i need to cease typing and go to bed! thank you and goodnight.

people

people are wonderful.  their eyes, their smiles and their differences.  it's so funny how everyone is so different and they get along with people that they never thought they would have gotten along with.  and how they're attracted to different kinds of people.  you can tell a lot about a person from their eyes too...so much escapes through your eyes.  you can't really hide what you're feeling from people who know how to find it.  i wonder what people can tell from my eyes?
it's so funny how even when you haven't met someone they can make an impact on your life, all the way from a celebrity to someone random in a coffee shop.  another reason to think before you speak i guess.

man oh man

i feel God in the wind.
here in TN it's been rather blustery lately.  and i'm in love with it.  i would be content if the wind blew all the time.  especially when i was on a big grassy hill in the middle of no where.
i like seeing the golden trees "clap their hands".  i wonder if they really are worshiping their Creator.  yes. i just referred to a tree as a person.  they seem alive to me.  and i love swaying with them from time to time it makes me feel like i'm floating.  joy.
i like smiling.  hah. that was random. but HEY, i do.  want to smile with me?

as i sit here listening to my lovely sister and wonderful father attempt to play the magical piece: Clair De Lune by Debussy, i think of all that there is out there in this planet we call Earth.  think of the sunrises and the sunsets that are happening at this moment.  i think of the laughs and couples waking up to look into each others eyes in all the mornings that are occurring.  i think of the stars and their names, which are only known by our beautiful Creator.  i think of all the thoughts that are running rampant through the streets of our minds. and the tears that stain both the happy and the sad...i think of Paris and the lights and the parties, that sometimes feel real only in movies.  i try so desperately not to think of the stresses of life and of this we call "reality".  but really...reality is just a figment.  something that we so often get caught in.  then there's the thought of a question, then it leads to another...but no.  mustn't go there.  just dream. just imagine.  just LIVE.  life.  life?  life makes me smile.

also i've been doing a lot more water coloring lately and if anyone wants to see what i'm doing, give me a holler :)
